Kiwi Pencil Drawing
The Kiwi Pencil Drawing task allows students to demonstrate their ability to use drawing processes to describe the main features and form of a displayed object. Students will complete this task working independently. The resources required for this task are a kiwi, four pencils, four pieces of paper, a bag of leaves, four tote trays, cardboard bases, four 3-point position bases. This task is to be completed in fifteen minutes.
This task is a part of the Making Art task series from 2007. This task is classified as a trend task by NEMP. Trend tasks are used to examine trends in student performance: whether they have improved, stayed constant or declined over the four-year period since the previous assessments.

Landscapes

Link Task 1: Collage
The Link Task 1: Collage task allows students to demonstrate their ability to compose a picture creating, selecting and assembling shapes, colors and textures in ways that give expressive impact. Students will complete this task working independently. The resources required for this task are a video, a set of six papers, scissors, a glue stick, and a base sheet. This task is to be completed in thirty minutes.

Link Task 2: Painting
The Link Task 2: Painting task allows students to demonstrate their ability to create an expressive painting from an imaginative idea, showing a variety of shapes, detail, color mixing and spatial effects. Students will complete this task working independently. The resources required for this task are paint brushes, chalk, paint, a palette, a mixing tray, water, a sponge, a video, and a video cue card. This task is to be completed in forty-five minutes.
