Calligraphic Arts
The Calligraphic Arts task is designed to engage students to explore the art of Calligraphy, learn its history, and learn techniques. Students will select or create short text focusing peace, love, tolerance, friendship in the form of poems, slogans, phrase, words, select sayings from Sufis or scholars, and use different medium including software to produce calligraphic pieces and share their completed projects in the interactive forum and a web gallery. Likewise students will get an opportunity to appreciate and comment on the pieces Calligraphic art designed by peers from participating countries.

Cave Creature
The Cave Creature task allows students to demonstrate their ability to produce an expressive colored drawing based on an imaginative idea, using skills of composition and media effects. Students will complete this task working independently. The resources required for this task are a video, oil pastels, crayons, paper, a cardboard under-surface, and a tray. This task is to be completed in twenty minutes.

Clay Model
The Clay Model task allows students to demonstrate their ability to use and control the medium of clay to create three-dimensional forms that interact expressively with each other. Students will complete this task working independently. The resources required for this task are blocks of clay, a pointed dowel stick, a mat, a wooden spatula, and a base card. This task is to be completed in forty minutes.
This task is a part of the Making Art task series from 1999. This task is classified as a trend task by NEMP. Trend tasks are used to examine trends in student performance: whether they have improved, stayed constant or declined over the four-year period since the previous assessments.

The resources required for this task are four blocks of clay, four pointed dowel sticks, four desk covers, four white plastic bases, four ice block sticks, four wooden steps, four pieces of paper, four pencils, four cue cards, and four dampened sponges. This task is to be completed in forty minutes.

Digital Citizenship
In the Digital Citizenship task, students will learn about Digital Citizenship and develop responsible on line behaviors through focused awareness raising activities. The project aims at making students aware of their responsibility while working online. Students will understand the term ‘Digital Citizenship’ and what it means in their context. They will learn Digital etiquettes, make conscious efforts to practice them and spread them amongst their friends and family. They will become aware of e-safety by learning about common web threats such as computer viruses (spyware, malware, adware, phishing, & pharming) and web issues such as copy right laws, cyber bullying, and plagiarism.

Dog Walk
The Dog Walk task allows students to demonstrate their ability to create and depict an expressive image appropriate to a defined context (dog walk) and perform a demonstrated printmaking process. Students will complete this task working one on one with a teacher-administrator. The resources required for this task are a video on laptop computer, brayer, a tube of purple ink, a desk cover, a sheet of newsprint paper, a blue greasy crayon, a pencil, a card plate, and an inking plate.
