Slides Away
The Slides Away task allows students to investigate the friction of three different material though a hands-on experience. After examining how different materials slide on a wooden board, students will answer five follow up questions. Students will complete this task working one on one with a teacher-administrator. Resources required for this task include a wooden board, a long rubber band, and a wooden block.

Smiling World
The Smiling World task is a global collaboration to promote happiness throughout the world by bringing international smiles to students. Students will create posters and photos promoting smiles, handmade toys with smiles, murals and poetry to bridge the cultural gaps through smiles. There will be an international exhibition that includes all the photos and posters and will be made public with the help of Mass Media and Internet resources.

Solar Cooking Project
In the Solar Cooking Project task, students will experiment with alternative energy uses by making, testing, and using solar cookers. Recipes, construction tips, experiments and research findings will be shared on line and compiled on a web site. This task includes several possible classroom activities.
