Unit description from the source: In this unit, students will learn about the connection between nutrition and health. Through interdisciplinary study in Biology, Health Science, Interpersonal Relations, English Language Arts, Mathematics, and World History, they will explore the questions of why we should care about what we eat and how food is produced. Students will explore concepts ranging from the body’s physical requirements in terms of calories and nutrients to the physiological and psychological outcomes resulting from various levels of nutrition and health. They will be introduced to cellular respiration, recombinant DNA technology, and ethical issues raised by using—or withholding the use of—biotechnology to increase food production.

Hip Hop On The Spot
The Hip Hop On The Spot task aims to unite young people from different countries by means of a collaborative musical and literary creation through hip hop, a street culture in which young people are the protagonists. The project begins with a theme for youngsters to write one RAP, speaking of iEARN, youth and collaborative creation. Lyrics should have 8 metric syllables. The rhyme should be posted to the project forum and the project facilitator will then organize completed lyrics for the full song and re-post to the forum.

Laws of Life: Virtues Project
In the Laws of Life: Virtues Project task, students will write an essay about their personal values in life. The Laws of Life Project allows students to express in their own words what they value most in life. They will submit essays about their laws of life in which they describe the rules, ideals, and principles by which they live, and explain the sources of their laws of life (i.e., life experience, religion, culture, role models, etc.). They will respond to each other's essays and interact with each other electronically. They will also be able to report on any dialogue or events that occur in their learning communities as they participate in the Laws of Life Project, and are encouraged to use what they learned about values to initiate change within the community through action projects.

Leadership- Then and Now
The Leadership- Then and Now unit includes an introduction, the learning focus, 4 teaching and learning activities, assessment criteria, and resources.
Unit description from source: In Leadership - then and now students examine the concept of leadership by comparing leaders of an ancient or medieval society with leaders in contemporary Australian society.
They use brainstorming to develop ideas of what constitutes leadership and consolidate their understanding through their research and discussion. A focus on note-taking and documenting sources provides a starting point for evaluating the quality of evidence obtained.
