Number Line Y8

The Number Line (Y8) task allows students to demonstrate their ability to correctly place fractions, decimals, and percentages on a number line. Students will complete this task working one on one with a teacher-administrator. The resources required for this task are eight cards (each with a fraction, decimal, or percentage), a number line ranging from 0 to 1, and a recording book.

Numbers in Squares

The Numbers in Squares task allows students to demonstrate their ability to identify patterns, add, and explain their methods. Students will be given a sample two by two cell number square with the numbers in the cells being totaled horizontally, vertically, and diagonally.  Students will then be given another square with totals and have to determine what numbers go in the cells. Students will complete this task working in teams. The resources required for this task are fifty plastic beans, sample number square, and two number squares..
