Missing the Point

The Missing the Point task allows students to demonstrate their ability to estimate and their understanding of place value and decimal points. Model Photos

In the Model Photos task, students will try to order a set of photographs in the order they think they were taken. Then students will use link blocks to try to recreate the model in the photographs. Students will complete this task working in teams. The resources required for this task are two sets of ordered photos, link cubes, and a placement mat.

The Money task allows students to demonstrate their money computation skills by determining how many of ten or twenty cent coins are in a dollar amount. Students will complete this task working independently. The resource required for this task is an answer booklet. 

This task is a part of the Measurements task series from 2005. This task is classified as a trend task by NEMP. Trend tasks are used to examine trends in student performance: whether they have improved, stayed constant or declined over the four-year period since the previous assessments.
