Smiling World

The Smiling World task is a global collaboration to promote happiness throughout the world by bringing international smiles to students. Students will create posters and photos promoting smiles, handmade toys with smiles, murals and poetry to bridge the cultural gaps through smiles. There will be an international exhibition that includes all the photos and posters and will be made public with the help of Mass Media and Internet resources.

Special Place

The Special Place task is a project promoting intercultural understanding and contributing to a better world to live in and students are invited to share local places that are precious to them in any digital forms. Students will select one local spot that gives them or their community special feelings and write a story about the unusual meanings of the places. They will use short stories with videos, ppt slides, digital photos or drawing to show us what theirr special place looks like. They may select any writing genre (creative, informative, humorous, etc.) or write a poem to describe their special place, and share what is special about it for them.

Talking Kites Around the World

In the Talking Kites Around the World task, students will be learning about children' rights, learning about Korczak as a writer, and learning about Korczak's philosophy. They will make and fly a kite with their thoughts, fears, dreams, and/or hopes on them. The main outcome is the enhancement of important values, such as tolerance, acceptance of the "other", co-existence, listening, choosing dialog over force, universal solidarity etc.

The Right Moves

The The Right Moves unit includes an introduction, the learning focus, 6 teaching and learning activities, assessment criteria, and resources.

Unit description from source: In The right moves students work cooperatively in teams to develop, analyze and implement group tactics. Students use cooperative learning tasks to identify, understand and develop key concepts that lead to an appreciation and demonstration of tactics in team games. Students analyse games and collect data to assess their performances. Students are introduced to European handball. They analyze a series of structured physical activities to develop basic attacking and defensive skills that are used in team games including European handball and create a media product that communicates their understanding of rules and tactics to a specific audience.

In the UNESCO World Heritage Sites task, students will explore and research the heritage of their country. In the forum, they will present their country and Unesco heritage sites, it's history, the tales about the place, and its meaning in their country's and the world's history.
