In the Smoke Free task, students will discuss the affect of smoking and think about why some people might start smoking even though it is bad for their health.  Students will complete this task working one on one with a teacher-administrator. The resource required for this task is a video showing anti-smoking TV advertisement.

The Snacks task allows students to demonstrate their money computation skills. Students will elect which snacks they would buy, how much they would cost, and how much change they would have left over. Students will complete this task working independently. The resource required for this task is an answer booklet.

Soak it Up

The Soak it Up task allows students to will design an experiment to test which of four types of paper is strongest when wet. Students will complete this task working in teams. Resources required for this task include two x four types of different paper samples (marked A,B,C,D), six rubber bands, a jug, four marbles, four jars, a bowl of water, a tray, and a “Working Together” team guide.
