The Smoke Free task allows students to demonstrate their understanding of the physical risks and negative lifestyle consequences associated with smoking. Students will complete this task working one on one with a teacher-administrator. The resource required for this task is a picture.

The Snacks task allows students to demonstrate their money computation skills. Students will elect which snacks they would buy, how much they would cost, and how much change they would have left over. Students will complete this task working independently. The resource required for this task is an answer booklet.

Sorting

The Sorting task focuses on classification. In this task students will think about why the objects in each bag have been grouped together and will answer ten questions. Students will complete this task working one on one with a teacher-administrator. Resources required for this task are three bags, a nail, a balloon, a coin (bag 1: rubber band, plasticine, foam cube; bag 2: metal spoon, magnet, metal paper ring; bag 3: stone, wooden cube, plastic counter)

Sound Chimes

The Sound Chimes task allows students to think about and experiment with the high and low notes. Students will answer seven questions. Students will complete this task working in stations.  ​ Resources required for this task include bolt chimes (four bolts of different sizes, suspended on a string from a wire frame mounted on a wooden base, bolts decreasing in size from bolt A to bolt D) and a large nail to use as a striker.

This task is a part of the Physical World task series from 1995 by NEMP.
