In Task 2, students will determine how a particular sentence in the passage connects to a prior section entitled “Population Problem.” They will write to explain the connection between the sentence and the prior passage. In Task 1, students will will watch a video followed by a turn-and-talk or class discussion. Then they will independently read a related article and answer key questions using bullet point text details. In Task2, students will write an editorial article arguing their opinion on a related topic. This assessment includes the Heads Up article, the Sugar Overload article, and a rubric.
